The association’s job consists of settlement and career guidance, as well as preventing rehabilitated youths from further crime committing, so that prevent them from the adult judicial system after they turn 18 and will inevitably be marked with a criminal record”, said Chen Yan-Chun.

Driftwood Brings Business Opportunities for Calavi Tribe
After Typhoon Morakot, it was shocking to see driftwood stacked on the coastline of Taitung. Yet, a pile of driftwood also provides job opportunities for Calavi (Duoliang) tribe. Founded on the Duo-Liang Elementary School with disuse, Sunrise Driftwood Workshop provides the most job opportunities for Calavi (Duoliang) tribe. The workshop offers them courses for woodworking from learning woods, designing and making.The workshop leads the way in tribal economy.
